STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Season Mixing

Summer has officially come upon us and there is nothing better than spending the day in the summer sun, soaking up the rays and enjoying all of our favorite parts of summer. As much as I love summer and the warm weather, when the heat becomes so overbearing and uncomfortable there is always a part of me that sometimes wishes that I could be in my cozy fall outfits with a pumpkin spice latte in hand.

This Fashionista was able to mix our two favorite fashion seasons, summer and fall, in one outfit. All of the pieces to this outfit can be mixed in matched in both seasons but this Fashionista chose to pair them together for a cool summer evening. The three-quarter sleeve print dress was perfect for the keeping her cool during the heat of the day and transitioned perfectly into the evening when the sun went down and it got a little chillier. Summer is such a fun time to experiment with fun patterned dresses and shorts. Don’t be afraid to try something different that you might not be used to wearing! Although some may assume so, booties are definitely not just a fall item. They can be paired with almost any summer outfit and that’s what this Fashionista did. By pairing the booties with her dress she was still able to be cool, but gave the outfit such a different vibe. The floppy hat adds the cutest feminine touch but is a great summer to fall transitioning piece. She finished accessorizing with just a simple leather banded watch, which matches the simplicity of the outfit to a T-shirt.

Although we want to enjoy the summer and the freedom that we feel with it, there is always a fall spirit deep down that longs for it to be September. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, instead pairing your favorite fall accessorizes with your favorite summer outfits in the best way to have the best of both seasons.
