STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Orange is the New Black

January 16th, 2017 at 2:00am

Hello everyone! I don’t know about you, but it is pretty cold here at Kent State University.  I find myself constantly trying to bundle up and stay warm in this frigid weather. Because it is so cold, we often cover up our outfits with the warmest puffiest coats making us look drab (just like the weather). The struggle is real when trying to to look cute and stay warm in this weather, but this fashionista knows just the trick!

Most winter jackets tend to be black or white, puffy, and sometimes unflattering. You often sacrifice fashion for warmth and end up looking like a marshmallow. No one wants to look like a marshmallow, especially when it is the time of year for holiday parties. So, in order to avoid this dilemma, this Fashionista decided to ditch the typical black, puffy jacket and go for a bright orange peacoat. This coat is both stylish and warm. For extra warmth this season, she paired her coat with a gray sweater, infinity scarf, and black ankle boots. This outfit is ready for any holiday party or get together!

So, if you want to avoid the drab winter blues, find a coat and winter accessories that are unique to your style. Find a jacket that comes in an interesting color or pattern, and pair it with your favorite winter basics. You could even find an exciting hat or scarf to go with a simple jacket. Either way, you’ll be getting rid of the winter blues in no time with your fun winter gear!
