STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Olive is the New Black

It’s no secret that olive green has become the new black. Just count the number of people roaming the streets and sidewalks and you’ll notice an abundance of the color in the form of both clothing and accessories. There are the rebellious people who have taken this trend by the reigns and have no trouble rocking a pair of olive colored pants and there are those who are less adventurous and opt for an olive colored tote. For those in-between Fashionistas, it can be difficult to figure out how to wear the color in a way that will make a subtle statement.

However, this gorgeous Fashionista seems to have no trouble doing just that with her ensemble! The center of her look is her trendy olive colored shift dress. While the dress may appear to be your average T-shirt dress at first glance, a second look will focus on the cutout sleeves and high neckline which define her shoulders.

In order to make this dress more formal for the luncheon she was attending, she added simple yet elegant gold jewelry as accents to the look. She kept her makeup minimal and her hair long and straight in an effort to look put-together. While she had to look professional, she was able to add some fun to her outfit through her heeled booties which have cutout detailing on the sides. The tan color of these complements her dress perfectly without taking away from the center of her look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The key to embracing the olive green trend in is to choose a piece that is simple and can be dressed up with accessories. Rather than going crazy with your olive green piece, choose one that you can complement through your jewelry, handbag and makeup.”
