STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Off-The-Shoulder

I don’t know about you, but Vanessa Hudgens has always always been one of my favorite fashion icons. Her boho style is so carefree and artsy that it looks like she’s ready for Coachella year round. I’d like to believe that she was one of the main contributing factors to the overwhelmingly popular summer trend of off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. It seems that everywhere you turn this summer you’ll see someone sporting one of these trendy tops, dresses or even rompers.

I personally love this trend because it’s a great way to show a tasteful amount of skin, without your outfit being too revealing. The off-the-shoulder look is so versatile and comes in many different options, there’s really no way to go wrong. Like this Fashionista, rompers and dresses are my go-to. No need to find two items that match, throwing on a dress or romper is a quick but stylish option when you’re on the go. Another popular option is to pair an off-the-shoulder top with a pair of shorts or a skirt. This gives you some freedom in choosing either a longer flowy shirt, or something more cropped to show a little extra skin on hot summer days.

This Fashionista has turned her summer sundress into a great outfit to wear for a night out. The addition of heeled booties and red lipstick gives the look a late night, sophisticated spin. By simply changing the red lipstick to a pink gloss and throwing on a pair of gladiator sandals this would be the perfect dress for any summer day.
