STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: No Rain On This Parade

Even though Florida is known as the Sunshine State, we are often faced with some unfavorable weather. Unfortunately for us Fashionistas, rainy weather can strike at any moment and we have to be prepared. Whether that means with a great pair of rain boots or a trendy raincoat, Floridian Fashionistas must be ready for the absolute worst. I ran into this Fashionista on a particularly dreary day. On days like this one, I usually witness students dressed in an overabundance of yoga pants, running shorts and oversized T-shirts, so it was quite refreshing seeing a dash of personal style amongst the crowd.

This Fashionista has on super cute yet simple outfit, perfect for a rainy day on campus. On top, she is wearing a comfy white sweater. I don’t know about you but I am a huge fan of sweaters on rainy days to keep me warm and cozy. For bottoms, she has on a great pair of dark wash denim jeans. The dark blue contrast of the jeans is perfect with the pop of color in her Hunter Boots. Adding a slight pop of color like she is with these rain boots is a great way to stay out of that rainy day slump. Plus, who doesn’t love a great pair of rain boots?

For accessories, this Fashionista keeps it simple. She has on a super rad black bowler hat that I am totally envious of. Hats like this are a great way to keep your outfit trendy while also keeping you dry in stormy weather. She keeps it modest with the jewelry by sporting a couple silver bracelets and a silver ring. For her bag, she is carrying an amazing crème colored kate spade bag that is just big enough to hold the necessities. Maintaining a bit of personal style (and keeping dry) while it’s raining can be quite the challenge, but this Fashionista has got it down pat.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color to your outfit on a gloomy day. Whether it is pants, accessories or your umbrella!”
