STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Neutral Mixer

Winter is in full swing, and when there are several inches of snow on the ground, sometimes the motivation to roll out of bed just isn’t there. However, this Fashionista fought the cold and snow all while looking chic. Neutrals have never been more in, but sometimes it can be difficult to break free of all-black. This Fashionista shows us how to not be afraid of mixing your neutrals.

The way she paired several simple and classic pieces created an effortlessly chic look. I am such a fan of mixing and matching the basics; you can’t go wrong with your favorite jeans and a solid sweater. I have also noticed that it is rare to see someone wearing a mixture of neutrals, especially brown and black. It’s so easy to stick to exclusively black, but what about all of those rich and beautiful browns? This Fashionista demonstrates just that.

She started off with the chic, all-black look. Her black sweater and scarf are the perfect starting point for this outfit. Next, she added a classic pair of dark wash high-waisted jeans. A great pair of jeans is a staple piece in everyone’s closet. Now for the exciting part! She switched up the all-black look by adding a pair of brown leather boots. My favorite part of her look was her mustard yellow beanie. This is one of my favorite colors and I definitely have a few pieces of my own in this color. Even her tortoise shell glasses tie in with the theme of mixed neutrals.

This Fashionista’s look has inspired me to be more adventurous with mixing pieces in my own closet.
