STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Neutral and Sporty

The rise of health and fitness in the last years has created a desire to have that “fresh from the gym” look all day long. Business-casual environments allow one to be fashionable while also maintaining comfort for an eight-hour workday. Unfortunately, you can’t wear your favorite lululemon matching outfit and Nike running sneakers to the office. But sporty isn’t limited to only spandex.

Hooded sweatshirts are typically labeled as a throw-on when lounging around the house, running an errand or going to and from the gym. This is the case, unless paired with the correct outfit. This Fashionista hit the nail on the head with this oversized, sleeveless hoodie. The length of the hoodie dresses up the outfit, steering clear from the typical hip-length hoodies we always wear to the gym. The sleeveless factor makes it perfect to wear for the hot summer months, allowing breathability, but is also great for the fall if worn with a long-sleeved shirt.

With the creation of a business-casual work environment, women are not always required to wear that below-the-knee length dress or skirt and blouse combination (depending on the industry). This gray, hooded sweatshirt with a black T-shirt, textured jeans and gray Steve Madden platform slip-ons, is creating a sporty and neutral look while also maintaining femininity. This hooded sweatshirt is something you can easily find in the men’s section while shopping, so don’t be afraid to buy it in a few sizes larger. This Fashionista also chose simplicity, and her long gold chain does the perfect job of creating dimension.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When I’m working a long work day, I want to be comfortable and practical. I love this hoodie because it’s versatile and I can wear it in a lot of situations, but at the end of the day I’m still comfortable.”
