STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Layered in Love

Our Fashionista this month is ready for whatever the weather brings, no matter what! This time of the year there are always sporadic days where it’s freezing in the morning, but then the sun warms your behind right up around noon. It’s important to dress appropriately for the weather and your daily life, and it’s even easier than you think!

Not only does layering keep you warm, it provides you with the ability to do as much print or color mixing as your little heart desires which is really on trend for the winter months. Try mixing this plaid dress with some striped tights, polka dots and these floral bell bottoms, or complementary colors for starters. As you make more combinations, I guarantee your mind will wander from there. Graphic T-shirts always make for good bases and tie all the patterns together. Before you know it you’ll be a professional, combining all sorts of prints like this lovely Fashionista. The possibilities are endless!

The more far-out the better, as recent runway trends indicate a revival of the late ’70s and early ’90s fashions recurring because as humans, we are naturally nostalgic. There is nothing like expressing yourself, and both of those eras truly nailed it even with the ups and downs of what’s hot in the fashion industry.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Layer it up, baby! I love layers because you can wear the same outfit twice in a row by switching just a couple pieces. They’re also great because you can take off or add pieces to your comfort level. Big sweaters are cute for winter, but they can get so freaking hot when you’re out and about.”
