STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Keep It Classy And Cool

There is absolutely no where I would rather spend my winter than Villanova. Our snow-covered campus is beautiful during the entire season, but it does get very chilly at times. The cold could make picking out the perfect outfit very difficult at times, but it does not have to. Whether you are getting ready for class or a night out on the town, you should never sacrifice style for comfort when you can easily obtain both.

Okay, I would be lying if I said you could leave the house in your favorite outfit without a warm winter coat. A nice warm winter jacket is a staple piece in any Fashionista’s wardrobe. The classic black parka style jacket will keep you warm while looking chic and sophisticated. If you do not already have one in your closet now is the perfect time to add to your wardrobe! With spring apparel starting to be released in stores, all of the winter items are being marked down, but you can still get a solid two months use out of a coat this season!

This Fashionista started to build her simple, chic outfit with a basic pair of dark wash denim jeans. You can get the style here. Jeans are great in the winter because they will keep you warm while out and about. She then added a black lace peplum top that can easily go from day to night with the swap of just a few accessories! For class or a lunch date, you can add a scarf or light jacket to the look. For a night out, try a statement necklace or large earrings.

Lastly, to top off her outfit, this Fashionista chose a pair of tall riding boots. I love this piece because they can easily go from fall to winter. These shoes are essential to any Fashionista’s wardrobe! Just a tip: if you wear them in the cold try a pair of wool socks to keep your toes warm!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My style advice of the week is to make sure you keep an element of style while trying to stay warm. It is so easy to throw on a pair of sweats or a super warm hoodie, but it is really just as easy to grab a cute sweater and patterned scarf!”
