STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Just Comfy & Cozy

I hope midterms weren’t too stressful, and now you have some down time to catch up on sleep or start a new Netflix binge. Leaving behind the first part of this fall semester means leaving behind all of those new back to school outfits, which everyone has probably already seen. But, no need to fret, this article here will help you continue to be a Fashionista while maintaining a more comfortable appearance.

Athleisure has been an up and coming fashion trend in the last few years, especially for students in college. You do not have to be an athlete to follow this trend, in fact many people aren’t, but it is important to get athleisure right. The most important part to any outfit in this category are leggings. Black leggings, in particular, absolutely bring an outfit together, not to mention the comfort of wearing them instead of feeling restricted by jeans. As far as the waist goes, that is where you get to decide what suits your style best. Personally, I would opt for a plain white T-shirt and a jean jacket with my favorite Nike shoes to finish it off. This Fashionista more athletic and her sporty tank and gray cardigan complement each other perfectly. Just like I would, she chose her favorite pair of Nike shoes, keeping her purple theme throughout the outfit. Another option I would recommend for shoes would be a pair of Converse. You can never go wrong with those, and they will always match any of your athleisure attire options.

Now as college students, we all know the importance of staying hydrated. Whether it be from numerous trips to Starbucks throughout the day or by simply refilling our water bottles, hydration is essential. It’s nice to always have a water bottle handy, not to mention that water bottles can be such charming accessories! Speaking of accessories, athleisure apparel does not require much from this department. A simple Pandora ring or two or three, some headphones and the perfect sunglasses add just the right amount of finesse. As for the hair, leave it down, add a simple wave or throw it up in a ponytail to make a more personal look.

Athleisure, in my opinion, is the best option for any student whose day just never seems to end. Of course, we all love to dress up now and then, but sometimes you just need a break and that’s where this look comes in. Don’t settle for sweats when a pair of your favorite leggings and T-shirt are calling your name! Take it from me and this Fashionista who inspired me, athleisure is definitely going to be your new favorite look for the rest of the semester.
