STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Jazz It Up

I ran into this Fashionista on her way from class to work and really liked the color she incorporated into her summer look. This shade of Tiffany blue is popular this season, and is perfect for a Florida summer. Light blues, pinks and oranges are trending tropical colors this summer and this Fashionista knows how to rock it!

Instead of just matching a pair of simple, blue flats to a plain shirt, this Fashionista lets the textures do the talking. The geometric pattern on her shirt compliments the cut out detail on her flats. Pairing these two opposing textures on two very different material types gives this outfit that extra pizzaz one needs when a faced with a full day of classes and work. Other ways to bring a little pop of Florida into your summer look is with a bright piece like a colorful bag, bracelets or earrings. Pops of color work well when you have a few older pieces you want to dress-up. However, if you’re using a bright item as a statement piece, be sure to not clash colors or use multiple bright patterns. Textures on the other hand can be mixed and matched, even within the same color scheme to add depth to an outfit. By using the color as her main statement this Fashionista is able to focus on the details of her outfit with ease.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Be comfortable and wear statement pieces, like necklaces and embellishments, because it lets you jazz up an otherwise boring outfit.”
