December 15th, 2016 at 2:10am

The leaves have completely fallen off the trees here in Boston and the inevitable snowstorms are fast approaching. But just because all the scenery has lost its color does not mean that your wardrobe has to, too.

The skies are dreary and the best piece of advice I can give is to always add a pop of color to your outfits. I am a firm believer that your outfit can completely change your mood and the people around you, too. Adding a bright pop of color into your wardrobe will stand out against the white, snow-covered city.

C’mon, you know you look good rocking your outfit when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the store window. Be bold; buy that red trench coat you have been eyeing on the mannequin.Trudging through the snow, the last thing you are thinking about is if your scarf is tied in a proper French knot. Most likely you are trying to figure out how to shake the chill!

Statement jackets are the perfect marriage of style and warmth. This Fashionista is modeling a stunning red trench coat that was passed on to her from her mother. Her mother wore the coat in the winters when she was in college.

She dressed in her basic essentials to let all eyes focus on her show stopping trench. Kate picked a neutral grey T-shirt and her everyday jeans from Old Navy to wear under her trench from.

One accessory is never enough. Kate tossed her plaid blanket scarf over her shoulders before arriving at the shoot. Not only is the scarf a fashion statement in itself, but it provides extra warmth on those chilly winter mornings. Any plaid item of clothing is essential in the winter months.
