STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Hello High-Rise

High-waisted jeans are back and better than ever! Over the past 30 years denim trends have changed drastically but because of the beautiful nature of fashion, these styles keep coming back! Flared, acid-washed, ripped and torn, baggy, skinny and colored denim have all been thrown away and recycled into our closets. The short-lived low-rise look of the early 2000s has shifted back to the high-waisted jean of the ’80s and ’90s. Fashionistas are diving into thrift stores and their mom’s closets to snag vintage rises and rinses that are perfectly on-trend this summer.

Some might steer away from the high-rise trend to avoid the infamous “long butt” of mom jeans, but high-waisted can be super flattering! The waistband cinches typically at the smallest part of your body and looks great on all body types. These jeans go perfectly with a tucked shirt or crop top and look even cooler cuffed, as shown by this Fashionista.

This Fashionista rocks the high-waisted look by pairing it with even more denim! The denim on denim ensemble is topped with a fitted jean vest. The light washed denim on both creates an edgy and monochromatic look. Lighter-washed denim is a great alternative for summer and adds a vintage, bohemian vibe. Layering is also used to add little pops of detail and color to the outfit. The Fashionista’s striped tank top, gold accessories, bright red belt and thrifted sandals all complete the look while complementing the denim seamlessly.

What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The perfect summer jean are the jeans that have an ideal high-rise for the vintage ‘boyfriend’ look people crave. The jeans fit your body perfectly while making you feel comfortable and confident!”
