STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Goodbye May, Hello June!

You know that spring has arrived after a long cold winter when flowers start blooming on people’s clothes. Floral prints are a great way to welcome spring. There are many ways to wear floral prints: you can dress in flowers from head to toe or choose a single, statement piece.
Floral prints pop up at stores in spring like flowers in a garden. Flowery prints started in the 12th century in East Central Asia, spread worldwide and have been with us ever since. Floral is known for making an outfit feminine and sweet, but today’s fashion is changing the ways floral can be worn. Céline, Christian Dior and Saint Laurent all used floral patterns in their spring 2015 ready-to-wear collections. They presented different ways to use floral prints and showed how they can be incorporated into different styles.
Take a look at how this Fashionista embraces spring’s warmth. Pairing a dark blue flowery kimono with a white tank top and denim shorts, she uses the floral pattern as the focus for her outfit. The kimono is light enough to keep her cool in the sun, but also warm in the D.C. wind. To complete the look, she pairs it with her favorite Old Navy flip flops and golden accessories. This Fashionista is unafraid to mix patterns seeing as the rims on her sunglasses are leopard print. Her outfit perfectly embodies the spring season and kicks off the summer!
