STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: For the Love of Scarves

After spending a few weeks in Paris, I have realized the importance (and necessity) of scarves and layering when it comes to perpetually cold weather. These two elements are also a part of the secret to the effortless style that most Parisians possess. Everyone from the leather satchel-toting men to the women clad in their well-made genuine leather boots, strut through the streets as if they were their own personal runway. Frankly, why not make the streets of Paris your runway. After all, it is the historical capital of fashion and style.

That is why it was not surprise that I found this Fashionista perfectly clad in the essential Parisian layers: sweater, scarf, tights, oversized coat and boots. What makes this outfit so unique are the various elements that work together to create the full picture. The layers are like a sort of fashionable puzzle, in which this Fashionista put pieces that fit together. The neutral colors of the skirt and the coat allow the pale pink scarf to pop. Also, the added feature of the semi-glittery boots infuses a little pizazz into the outfit.

When you don’t know what to wear for a cold day, just think about layers! It is also a fun way to show off your fashion creativity to see how you can mix and match different elements together.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Well it is a bit chilly outside so I’d say scarves are the best way to accessorize your outfit and also combat the cold.”
