STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fighting For Floral

It’s cold, and we are all being reminded of that by the constant snowfall… so fight back! Just because the rivers are icing over, I’m slipping and sliding on my way to class and my breath has started to fog my glasses, I refuse to give in to the dull colors winter forces on us!

Floral is the obvious go-to look for spring, but let’s break the patterns out early. Floral patterns that are big and bold are the perfect remedy for a gloomy winter day. This season, bright, colorful flowers that are set on a darker background are what is in. This combination results in a moodier feel and perfectly balances bright colors with cold winter days.

I found this vibrant Fashionisto in New York City and I asked him to brave the cold when I saw the paint palette hiding under his winter coat. This Fashionisto’s ensemble popped with warm colors on a day so cool and blue making him the center of attention. He was wearing a short sleeve button-up with red, orange and pink flowers set on a white background. He paired it with mustard yellow fitted jeans and black combat boots with floppy laces. His accessories for the day were his gold watch he wore on his left hand and his Canon camera. Try choosing a piece you have tucked away for warmer days and see how you can pair it with your winter get up!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?  “I for sure have the seasonal blues, so I need a pop of color to liven me up. Although I know floral is not what is ‘expected,’ especially in weather this cold, some days just call for a pick-me up! An early spring outfit does just that!”
