STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Feelin’ Blue

It seems that everyone is gearing up for fall. My Instagram feed is full of pictures of the changing leaves, chunky sweaters, plaid and pumpkin spice lattes. I wish I could partake in this celebration of layers and other autumn staples but it is still way too hot here.  New Orleans is a city unlike any other for many reasons—one of them being our unique weather. The past two weeks have definitely cooled down a bit but our temperature still reaches 80 almost every day. Maybe the lack of fall is what has this Fashionista feeling a little blue. No one likes feeling blue but this Fashionista makes a statement in this monochromatic all blue ensemble.

Our Fashionista managed to make a comfy and casual outfit look super cute. This chambray dress with an embroidered top is fabulous because you can just throw it on and look super put together. I love the fur pompom keychain on her classic leather purse. Poof keychains add a touch of fun to any handbag and are very easy to change up whenever you get bored. This girl is on the go so she is sporting some adorable Vans, a blue baseball cap and even a matching water bottle.

My favorite part of this whole outfit would be our Fashionista’s KREWE sunglasses. KREWE is an independent eyewear brand based in New Orleans and are a year-round staple here. This particular frame is called the St. Louis. The metal nose bridge is inspired by the wrought iron balconies that can be seen throughout the French Quarter. I love how all of KREWE’s glasses are inspired by the architecture and culture of New Orleans—my favorite city.

My style advice of the week is to never be afraid to rock a monochromatic look. If you’re really feeling a color, deck out in it. I hope none of you are actually feeling blue but don’t be afraid to wear a bunch of it.
