STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Dying for Tie-Dye

Tie-dye is a trend that seems to never die. Well, it did for a while, but now it’s back. For a while the cool thing to do was to tie-dye your own T-shirt, but now it’s a trend that has expanded. If you walk into your favorite store nowadays, there’s probably a cute shirt that has a bit of tie-dye on it. Tie-dye can be worn with jeans, short, athletic wear—basically anything. It’s a way of giving a plain shirt something fun. There are tie-dye dresses, tank tops, T-shirts; everything a fun hippie could imagine. The good thing is that nowadays you don’t have to be a hippie to wear tie-dye, you can be whatever you want and still rock it!

I don’t know about you, but I love the tie-dye trend. This Fashionista seems to as well. She has paired her tie-dye tank with black, distressed jean shorts, classic Converse and a layered necklace. This look is so edgy, yet she is able to keep cool for the summer! In the chillier days throughout the year, this tie-dye tank can be worn with a flannel, cardigan and jeans. There are long sleeve tie-dyed shirt options as well. Either way, you can’t go wrong with tie-dye!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “I love tie-dye because it can be a million colors or just two colors and still be pretty. I think it stands out so much more than just a plain tank top. I love to pair my tie-dye clothes with something else that’s plain, like these black denim shorts. Of course I threw on my Converse because they’re comfortable and go with everything, and this necklace to make my whole outfit a bit more fancy. I love dressing edgier and I wear tie-dye all the time to do that!”
