STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cuffed Buttoned and Thrifted

I love a simple twist on a classic outfit. Adding a fresh pop of interest to an otherwise traditional look can take whatever you are wearing to a whole new level. This Fashionisto did just that. I already thought the patterned, short-sleeve button-down was a great summertime look. By cuffing his short sleeves, he put his own personal spin on it, and elevated his own style. The even cooler part about this button-down is its vintage thrift store feel; appropriate, because then I found out it was a vintage thrift store find! So not only did this Fashionisto use his button-down to create a cool look, he also turned his top into a conversational piece.

Fellow Style Gurus as well as myself have been raving about patterns this summer and thoroughly enjoying the fresh, fun trend. This Fashionisto styled his patterned button-down perfectly. By picking up on the lighter hues from his cuffed sleeves, he matched them with a basic gray undershirt. He kept it super classic and relaxed with a pair of dark wash jeans and broken in Clarks Wallabees.

Casual dressing in the summer should be comfortable and fun. Stick to your favorite pieces, invest in something worthwhile and don’t be afraid to add a little pop of conversation to an outfit!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I like to keep it pretty simple. I stick to the certain brands I like and invest in the good stuff, like these Clarks Wallabees. The button-down is from a thrift store in Brooklyn which is also pretty cool.”
