STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Casual Edge

I feel like it’s really hard to get the perfect amount of edginess without looking too overdone. Personally, I love adding one edgy accessory or statement piece to an outfit to complete the whole look. Even though I am never one to go full edge with an outfit, I admire those who can pull it off. I feel like you have to have a certain look.

This Fashionista definitely has that look! This ensemble looks super comfy and cute with just the right amount of edge. The jacket is perfect for the fall weather, mixing trendy denim with warm cotton sleeves. The leggings definitely bring the comfort aspect while not drawing attention away from the eye-catchers of the outfit. The combat boots definitely bring the edge while the pattern socks soften balance it a little. The crescent choker really ties the whole thing together, matching the silver of the buttons on the jacket and sticking with the black theme.

Her hair also really adds personality to the outfit. It’s the pop of color that contributes, without drawing your attention away from the ensemble. Personality plays a big role in the edge factor. If you’re not trying to look to edgy, you’ve really got to play up your features. This Fashionista plays up her maroon hair by adding black and other colors that go together well, like blue and silver.

My style advice is to always play up your best features. If you want to add some edge, start with a trendy black choker or some combat boots. Pair them with some dark-wash jeans and you’re golden!
