STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cardigan It Up

Here in Santa Clara, the temperature rises during the day and falls acutely during the night. It can get as warm as 78 around noon but only around 50 in the early morning and evening. What do you wear to deal with this drastic temperature change? This Fashionista has the right answer.

An oversized cardigan and a sundress is the perfect casual combination for an average school day. Cardigans of all sorts have always been in and out of trends—thick cardigans, patterned cardigans, short cardigans—you name it. They keep coming back in style because of their practicality. Cardigans are good for warmth, comfort and the best part: most have pockets! Recently in trend have been these oversized, sweater-like cardigans.

This Fashionista matches a thick, navy blue cardigan with a white floral patterned dress. This allows her to keep warm during the chilly mornings and not feel too hot under the unforgiving California sun. Adding to her outfit are a simple necklace and a simple pair of flats. This combination allows her to have many different looks throughout the day. She can take the cardigan off and tie it around her waist, or she could simply put her cardigan away. If it is way colder, you can even match this outfit with boots or other closed-toe shoes.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It’s always nice to own a couple of different cardigans! Patterned ones to spice up plain outfits, and plain ones to complement patterned outfits.”
