STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Campus Comfort

Dress for success or for comfort? This is a question busy college students know all too well while standing in front of their closets first thing in the morning. It is important to carry yourself in a presentable manor but sometimes making it to your early morning class is hard enough without deciding on a full on outfit. Luckily, the fashion world has created items that combine the ultimate combination; comfort and style.

I spotted this Fashionista on her way to a business school meeting and had to ask for her tips on looking effortlessly cool and comfy. Her key item in this outfit was her Madewell T-shirt that she called her wardrobe staple. With the weather transitioning to summer temperatures here in Kansas, this slightly cropped, thin cotton shirt looked perfect to wear around campus. Our Fashionista frequently opts to walk to her classes rather than ride the bus so her Converse were the perfect addition. Finding the right pair of campus-appropriate shoes is hard this time of year when summer sandals are screaming your name. At the end of the day, the amount of support sturdy shoes like Converse give you will make strolls to class a little easier.

To finish off this outfit, our Fashionista chose one of the most comfortable options in the purse world, a cross-body. After a day of carrying around your textbooks, it’s good to give your back a break with something simple and lightweight. Her kate spade cross-body is the perfect size to fit all of the essentials for a quick meeting on campus.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I focus best in class when feel my most comfortable. Wearing a simple, worry-free outfit takes one more thing off my mind so I can put my full attention on what is going on in class that day.”
