STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bring on the Bow Tie

Though the “bro tank” still remains at large in these hot summer months, the short-sleeved button-down has seen an increase with Fashionistos everywhere wanting to bridge the gap between both more formal outfits for day-to-day activities. However, the one accent that really makes this pop from all the rest is the amazing addition of the bow tie. The bow tie is a trendy fashion accent available in all patterns, and hasn’t been seen much around Manhattan, Kansas. They are the perfect way to provide all the necessary contrast, even show off your favorite TV show or superhero character. The gray bow tie perfectly matches with the gray pocket accent, tying the outfit together. Adding in the fedora gives a subtle nod to the ’20s when bow ties were at their height.

When thinking of bow ties and their brands, one might atomically picture such notorious brands like Ralph Lauren or J.Crew. Spring 2016 in menswear is no exception. Iceberg has redefined what it means to even wear a bow tie. Exuding ’70s style, the casual outfits the self-tie bows are casually worn loosely around the neck. Fashion always repeats itself, so it is nice to see that even with trends such as grunge currently at an all time high, some things never go out of style.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’ve never really been a fan of wearing just as graphic T-shirt and shorts. I love exuding a hint of formality in everything I wear. By wearing one I get to dress up my outfit and break away from the usual summer clothes.”
