STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Breakup Blues

For all the beautiful Fashionistas reading this; I know what you went through. Your heart was broken, your trust was lost, and you felt as if you lost your other half. But, you didn’t. Breaking up with your beau is just one door closing so another one can open. This is the time to find yourself all over again! Is there any better way to redefine yourself than with a new up-and-coming trend? Absolutely not. This Fashionista took her new single lady ring and double denim ensemble and strutted her stuff through the streets.

I love the denim on denim look, mainly because it’s a step outside of the fashion box. To be blunt, I never thought much of the double denim style. I saw outfits that had shades of denim that were too close in color or two different materials, and it turned me off to the idea of ever wearing one. But one day as I was scrolling along my Instagram feed, I saw a photo of Kendall Jenner wearing denim on denim. Being my personal fashion icon, I was hooked onto the idea of wearing a denim fit. So, following along the stream of people everywhere in denim shirts and jeans, I became obsessed.

This Fashionista wasn’t afraid to pair a denim shirt with a trendy pair of boyfriend jeans. Slip on a neutral-colored bodysuit and some platform boots and you’re good to go! Since the denim pair was the main look of her day, she added some silver rings and a simple silver choker to complete the outfit.

This is a very versatile look, and since it’s summer, a backup outfit for those days that are just too hot is always necessary. Take off your denim shirt and tie it around your waist for a unique contrast of the denim colors.

When you’re feeling down about your latest relationship upset, think about changing up your wardrobe and adding a double denim outfit (or five) to your closet. Some people underestimate the power of fashion, but this Fashionista is not one of those people. Get back in your groove with a super stylish look. Tennis superstar Maria Sharapova once said, “When you look good, you feel good. Confidence with what you’re wearing is very important.” We couldn’t agree more, Maria!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Denim on denim is like the fried chicken and mashed potatoes of clothing. You can’t eat it all the time, but it sure makes you feel better when you need it.”
