STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bohemian Brunchin’

Nothing is better on a Sunday than rolling out of bed, enjoying a lazy day and then realizing around 5:00 pm that a meal is yet to be had. So you gather your girlfriends or call up your parents to go get a bite of breakfast for dinner, and the only challenge remains putting on clothes other than pajamas. Jeans? Way too stiff and tight. Leggings? A little too informal for that new funky restaurant down the street. Your best bet is a skirt and tank top combo for a casual but classy look, especially in humidity when the last thing you want is to feel constricted after the second bread basket.

Our Fashionista went with a Free People handkerchief trim midi skirt and a Splendid lavender tank top, layered at the waist where the elasticized top of the skirt smooths the layers over. It feels like air, but looks like serious style! The pastel colors work with tanned summer skin well too, so try out lighter pinks and blues than you’re used to. She added a delicate silver bracelet and a gold chain necklace to add metallic flare, and I do love a Fashionista who isn’t afraid to mix metals! The gold necklace matches the accent on her shoes which are tan Steve Madden wedges that are not only easy to walk in, but match almost anything.

For food and little end of weekend fun, this Fashionista has her look down pat. When going out to meals, try not to let the sleepiness of the day keep you from dressing your best, because when you look better you feel better too. Don’t be afraid to sit at the counter while waiting for your table and order a drink or two—it’s free publicity for your newly assembled ensemble!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear what you can move in and always find a dress or skirt that has a fun pattern on it. It takes your look from ‘blah’ to ‘MWAH!’ so quickly.”
