STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Black To The Basics

In the 1960s Audrey Hepburn  wore a little black dress designed by Hurbert de Givenchy in the romantic comedy film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The dress that he made was a simple black sheath dress that was made out of black Italian satin. It was accessorized with classy jewelry, white pearls and black heels. This particular look became known as the “basic black”. It was one of the many forms of the iconic little black dress created in the sixties.

The Fashionista styled her black dress with a pair of floral flat sandals and gold accessories. When doing this fun and easy look it doesn’t take much thought and time to pull out of ones closet. Even if this basic little black dress was detailed with extra black embellishments it would still be an easy snag when paired with these bright colorful shoes.

This Fashionistas floral flat print sandals make her basic little black dress pop. It adds a little flare of color, but not too much to take away from the simplicity of her little black dress. The last enhancement this Fashionista added to her outfit were her gold accessories. The simple elegance of the dream catcher gold earrings worn by her made her makeup, hair and outfit come together and show her natural beauty.

Every girl, lady and woman needs to have a favorite little black dress to wear any and everywhere. Whether they are going to a party at a night club or out to dinner with their family or friends. Bottom line is it is great to have that little black dress.
