Let’s face it—black and navy works wonders together. It’s chic, simplistic and bold. For so long, the negative stigma of black and blue coinciding has been among us. However, as of late, people are moving away from this and showing how RAD the two colors are together. A lot of designers, such as Elie Tahari and Neil Barrett, are proving my previous statement. Basically, you should toss the negative stigmas about color clashing and go for it.
This Fashionista incorporated black and navy on this chilly day. Summertime is generally full of breeze, so if you’re not one to rock maxi skirts and tank tops, this Fashionista is a perfect example of what you can wear instead. She wore a pair of breezy Aritzia skinny leg trousers and a black crop top. One of my favorite current trends is pairing the low-top adidas sneakers with baggy clothes, and this Fashionista nailed it with her Stan Smiths. She finished the look with an oversized button-down that she snagged at a thrift shop.
There are many days where I just don’t feel like wearing a dress or skirt and many times I don’t know what to throw on besides jeans. But, just like this Fashionista showed, if there’s a will, there’s a way! Don’t be afraid to take risks this summer, especially when it comes to mixing up your outfit color palette.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Take risks. Clash those colors you were always told didn’t go together. And find alternatives to your usual summer go-tos. I promise you’ll come out with killer outfits”.
