STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: American Innovation

February 2nd, 2015 at 2:00am

It’s no secret between my friends and I that I’m a big fan of summer. I cannot wait for the moment when I can put on a pair of palazzo pants, a cute lacy crop, a wide brim hat and channel my inner Vanessa Hudgens. Hopefully I find myself an Austin Butler while I’m at it. As much as I loathe the bleakness of winter, there are some moments after a fresh snowfall when the outdoors looks absolutely breathtaking. Everything is so distinct and refined.

Like a red fox against an icy backdrop, this Fashionista and her ensemble markedly diverge from the winter wonderland behind her. She dons a green and red plaid blanket scarf. However, instead of wearing it traditionally around her neck, she drapes it around her body and pins it with a vintage find given to her by her mother. The colors in the look help to bring out her gorgeous red hair. The scarf is added atop a pair of leather paneled leggings and leather strap booties for a crisp and classic aura. She accessorizes her outfit with a pair of rhinestone earrings, a charming Pandora bracelet and a leather fringe clutch.

The Fashionista’s clothing is a curious blend of classic prints and innovative styling. This just goes to prove that with enough creativity, even the most prim of pieces can be made into chic staples that stand out from the crowd.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Innovation really is the key to success. If you don’t want to be constantly spending money on new clothes, find new ways to wear your favorites instead.”
