STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Always Sweater Weather

February 6th, 2015 at 2:10am

Even though there’s crazy blizzard conditions happening right now along the East Coast, it’s been a complete bipolar weather experience here in the Midwest. While yesterday I was wearing a T-shirt to class and studying outside, I woke up to frigid weather this morning that called for a sweater and a coat for the long walk to class. Since you can never know what kind of weather is actually in store for the day, lots of layers are key so that you’re comfortable in just about any temperature.

On her way around campus to her different classes, this Fashionista just emanates comfort, warmth and style all at once. By wearing a basic T-shirt under the sweater, she is also able to take off the sweater and still have a cute look in case the weather gets too warm. Whether you opt for a sweater similar to this Fashionista’s, like this one from Nordstrom or a more colorful option like this one from Urban Outfitters, there are always plenty of options for you in the realm of long sweaters.

My favorite thing about oversized sweaters like these are the way that you can use them as the centerpiece of your outfit and build the rest of the outfit around it. Every girl needs at least several sweaters like the one that this Fashionista decided to wear. Long enough to wear leggings with, heavy enough to wear over a little black dress and neutral enough to wear with colored denim; the possibilities are endless.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m very comfortable in this outfit, and you can put the sweater over a variety of looks depending on the weather. It’s a versatile sweater, and it’s always sweater weather.”
