STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: All Black Everything

Dressing for the cold can be tough; the last thing you want to do on a winter morning is trade in your cozy pajamas for a cute outfit that requires the effort you don’t have. Oftentimes we resort to the same outfits simply because of our lack of creativity, but this week I challenge you to wear the same colors instead.

Monochromatic outfits were a huge trend in fashion shows, magazines and on the red carpet in 2014, but I’m not about to put them on the back burner now. Wearing similar color schemes is the perfect way to look put-together with the least amount of effort possible. I caught this Fashionista leaving my dorm and instantly fell for her use of black. I love how she maintained the monochrome in her studded boots and felt hat. This look probably took her less than five minutes to come up with, but it looks as if she were Chiara Ferragni walking to class.

Pairing black with black is a super simple way to get some use out of this trend while we’re still in the cooler months and while an obscene amount of dark hues is still acceptable. If you’re a little worried about stepping out of your comfort zone by wearing all black, try throwing on a neutral sweater like this Fashionista did to offset the darkness and stay cozy.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I bought these jeans in the fall on sale at American Eagle, and I wear them nonstop. The black goes with everything, so they make it super easy to just throw on an outfit in the morning and go!”
