STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Poncho Story

Winter has most definitely arrived in the Midwest and there is no turning back now. The holidays are over and school is back in session. While most of us are excited about the new year, there may still be some lack of motivation due to the low temperatures. So how does one still stay fashionable in this weather? Think ponchos!

This particular Fashionista left me in awe with her trendy poncho. When some hear “ponchos” they might think old-fashioned; however this Fashionista knew how to rock this style. She styles her Aztec-inspired poncho with a pair of simple black jeggings and a pair of black booties. This is a perfect go-to outfit for class when you may feel like keeping it simple, but still on the trendy side. Not to mention, ponchos are almost like socially acceptable blankets that a Fashionista can wear! Just another reason why these are a great investment to add to your closet this season.

Ponchos come in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. If you are not feeling brave enough for the Aztec pattern, then you may want to try a solid color or even a more loose fitting one. Stay fashionable, friends and remember to make your campus your runway!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Stay fashionable and warm! Whether you are adding layers or a thick knit sweater, make sure you are taking advantage of looks you can only wear in the winter. Remember not everyone gets to dress for winter like we do in Illinois!”
