STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: ’60s And ’70s On The Upswing

It’s no surprise that trends go through cycles around every 20 years or so. But lately, due in part to the Internet, more and more trends from the past are becoming popular and appearing in mainstream fashion. This Fashionista combines elements from both the ‘60s and ‘70s in her classic, everyday look.

Her loose floral blouse paired with the denim skirt gives off a fun boho vibe that seems to capture the essence of summer. Peasant tops and platform sandals like this Fashionista is wearing were extremely popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s. These pieces have recently gained popularity again as vintage looks and thrift shopping have become trendy with Fashionistas and Fashionistos across the country.

To complete this look, the Fashionista wears delicate beaded bracelets and matching earrings. The sparkle and shine of these accessories add a modern charm to her outfit. Her glasses are one of her most important accessories not only because of their functionality, but also because of their vintage frames. This Fashionista  combines these elements effortlessly to recreate a look straight out of the past, but with a modern twist. Her look transcends decades, making sure that she can fit in with any situation while also standing out from the typical crowd.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Since a lot of my style inspiration comes from the ‘60s and ‘70s, I feel that the best thing to do is try to find really cute vintage shops. They normally aren’t that expensive and usually have unique things you won’t find anywhere else!”
