STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEEK: Cozy Neutrals

February 2nd, 2016 at 11:51am

Winter has finally decided to make an appearance here in State College, PA! This means we are switching out our light fall jackets for big sweaters and furry coats! These things will keep your body warm, but what about your feet? Cozy over-the-knee socks are the answer to this dilemma!

This winter, socks are all the rage. All over campus, I see girls rocking tall socks with all different kinds of shoes: sneakers, snow boots and especially riding boots! These are a great way to make sure your feet and legs stay warm despite the freezing temperatures and the blizzards. The socks that are knit like the ones shown are the best—they are so much warmer than regular socks. Along with the warmth, this trend is so cute. Having fun socks peeking out of your boots adds an extra detail to your look.

The adorable look this Fashionista is sporting on this cold winter day is so cute but also very warm. She’s got her long brown sweater dress, some thick brown tights, her cozy knit socks and some tall, tan riding boots. She also adds some cute Alex and Ani bracelets, pearl stud earrings and throws on some fun gold rings. This is such a nice look because all of the neutral colors blend together so seamlessly, and it’s a comfortable yet stylish outfit. The socks just add a little bit of something special to the look!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Tall socks are both very cute and very practical, because they keep you warm and the pull together the entire outfit. I wouldn’t wear that outfit without the socks! Also, sticking to neutrals makes putting together an outfit super simple.”
