With the summer season just around the corner, many people are ditching the makeup and embracing their natural summer glow. For me, an avid fan of makeup, it is difficult to say goodbye to all of my favorite products for the summer. While I do love the natural look, I still love to experiment with the bright colors that are often trending in the warmer months.
My everyday summer makeup routine consists of a natural base with a warm glow. I typically will keep it simple with only mascara on the eyes, but every once in a while, I like to add a pop of color. To continue with the natural theme, I put some lip balm with SPF on my lips and call it a day.
For foundation, I like to stick with a lightweight, liquid foundation so my face doesn’t feel cakey on a hot day. One of my favorites is the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation. It’s lightweight but still has amazing coverage while looking natural.
To warm up my face, I have been loving the Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer in the shade Sweet Tea. This bronzer has one side with a cool undertone and one with a warm undertone, to mix together to create the perfect neutral bronze. To add a natural flush to my cheeks, I use Milani’s Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso. With a subtle shimmer to it, this blush helps add more glow to the face.
To finish off my face, I add my favorite highlight at the moment: Ofra’s Rodeo Drive. This highlight adds the perfect golden glow to tan/medium skin tones, while still being light enough for fairer skin tones as well.
On the eyes, the perfect palette for summer is the Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette by Too Faced. With a nice balance of neutrals and bright colors, this palette is great for day to day use. My favorite shades are Summer Yum, a warm brown, and Luscious, a glossy champagne shade. To top it off, I recommend a waterproof mascara, such as Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara.
