Not Your Average Halloween Party Playlist: 18 Songs That Aren’t “Monster Mash”

Even though munching on candy bars and watching Edward Scissorhands within the confines of your dorm room may be just as acceptable in April as it is in October, this weekend is the best time of year to crank up your favorite Halloween tunes. And while we’re all fans of the classics (“Monster Mash” and “This Is Halloween”), even the creature from the black lagoon likes to change things up every once in a while. Here are a few 21st-century haunts to blast at your next All Hallow’s Eve party—with a few of our favorite old ghoul chants hidden between the candy corn and caramel apples of our favorite rock and pop songs.
