FASHION FROM ABROAD: Parisian Polka-Dots

The beautiful city of Paris has been experiencing an unexpected heatwave this past week, making all the long skirts and layers I packed useless for touring the city. The weather has reached 100 degrees, which requires less clothing with just as much style. This can be difficult because you don’t have as many pieces to work with to make cohesive. The question is how to step out of the house feeling good about your look without passing out from the heat or just wearing workout clothes. Instead of opting for a casual look consisting of shorts and a crop top or a tank top, this Fashionista fought the heat by making a sweet statement.

In the midst of Paris Couture Week, such a feminine look is appropriate and appreciated. Her blue polka-dot dress is fun and flirty without being impractical for the city. Her accessories and shoes add color and feminine details. Her pink Lacoste bag is subtle and functional, while her sparkly ASOS flats supply the look with the pop of texture it needs. This Fashionista tops off her look with heart shaped sunglasses. However, despite all the sweetness, her look does not go overboard. The colors of the outfit are limited and subtle, and she wears the look with hair ties as bracelets and a tough shark tooth choker.

Put together, this Fashionista creates a feminine look that is sweet without being saccharine. A short, strapless dress is a great way to go on such a hot summer day in the city.
