FASHION FROM ABROAD: Ciao Firenze

July 7th, 2016 at 2:00am

The city of Florence accommodates a multiplicity of international students and their street styles. Like its architecture, the Florentine style of fashion is well coordinated. Us study abroad students can attest to the struggle of piling in all of our summer essentials into one suitcase, this restriction requires traveling Fashionistas to use their creativity when formulating their ensembles.

Maintaining the city’s wardrobe aesthetic, this Fashionista practices stylish layering with an all-black ensemble, paired with a white button-up and classic white sneakers, proving that it possible to travel with practical and stylish pieces. Her look was similar to what many students can be seen wearing in Florence. She combined solid-coloured pieces with a sleek pair of sneakers. This versatile outfit includes a cuffed white button-up, a black ribbed mock neck top, distressed black boyfriend jeans and a pair of low top, lace-up Vans. This simple-yet-effective look this Fashionista polished off with a vintage watch and a classic pair of Ray-Ban sunnies.

This Fashionista exemplifies how to attain a cool, comfortable and collected style when traveling. My advice? Pick solid-coloured pieces for your travels that allow you to still be playful with your outfit choices. (For a travelling student with a limited assortment of clothing, neutral wardrobe pieces are essential). Particularly pack a classic pair of white sneakers as they can essentially be paired with anything in your suitcase––yes, even your summer dresses! Sneakers are the ultimate addition that gives Fashionistas an effortless, cool vibe to their summer looks.
