#CFSweats—Fitness under 50

Forget the number on the scale, we here at CollegeFashionista are all about promoting feeling healthy and feeling fit. Strong is the new skinny. But that doesn’t mean that numbers don’t matter—especially to a busy college student on a budget trying to be active!

Each month we will be bringing you “FITNESS UNDER 50.” So whether that is dollars, minutes or even calories, here are this month’s fitness finds all under that magic number. Now there is no excuse to get moving!

Zero—The price of your first week of yoga at CorePower Yoga, a nationwide hot yoga studio, We seriously love their Yoga Sculpt classes which mixes yoga, cardio and weight training in a single class. Talk about multitasking and literally feeling the burn!

Two—The number of handles on a jump rope AKA our latest cardio obsession. Jump rope is not just for the schoolyard! It seriously jacks your heart rate and makes you feel like a kid again. Plus, it is super portable so you can “jump start” your day no matter where your summer travel plans take you!

Three—The number of syllables in the actual pronunciation of “acai” (Ah-Sa-EE). Let this antioxident rich, nutrient dense super food fill more than just your Instagram feed by blending it into your next juice or smoothie bowl!

Four—The number of minutes in our current favorite gym song—”This Is What You Came For” by Mr. Taylor Swift, I mean Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna.

Five—The number of minutes workouts start at on Sworkit—a personalized fitness app. We love the idea that we can pick from strength, yoga, pilates and stretching workouts ranging from five-60+ minutes, all requiring no equipment. No longer do we have the “I don’t have time” excuse to skip a sweat session.

12—The number of calories in a hearty serving of zucchini noodles. Swap out regular noodles for “zoodles” for a healthy, nutrient dense alternative to your favorite pasta dish. Plus, you can load up on veggie pasta without that post-spaghetti guilt and nap.

30—The number of seconds it takes to prep our favorite healthy grab-and-go breakfast—chia seed pudding. Simply take two tablespoons of chia seeds, a cup of dairy-free milk (we love coconut milk!) and half a teaspoon of vanilla extra. Place all the ingredients in a mason jar, pop on the lid, give it a couple shakes and place it in the fridge overnight. Top with berries, almond butter, cinnamon and/or chopped nuts in the morning and viola!

34—The number of dollars this criss-cross sports bra costs. It can easily be worn to pilates then paired with high-waisted jeans shorts as you head to brunch to chow down on those pancakes your just earned.
