BEAUTY BAR: The Naturalist

Now I am going to start this by saying that I am not the best with makeup. I have never really had a want or need to wear much day to day. It’s just too much work and I am not all that great at it. I do like the way it looks and I applaud the ladies that make the time and effort to do so every day, but it’s just not my thing. However, I do like the natural makeup look, and I have found a Fashionista who is well versed in all things makeup.

This Fashionista’s look is what she calls “a heavy natural.” She has created a natural look that displays her features but doesn’t overpower her face. This look is created fairly simply, which I like because I hate spending time on makeup. I love simple, clean makeup and hers is perfect. She goes light on the eyes with mascara but uses a perfect amount of eyeliner. Her lips are a bit darker than natural and the eyes are darkened. The skin is kept almost totally natural. Her foundation evens out her skin and gives her a glow, but it doesn’t look like she’s wearing any foundation at all. This is truly a skill and can take time to master, but once you do, the look is absolutely stunning!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look, you need makeup that matches your natural features. Pick a subtle foundation, lipstick and eye makeup. To find the best products for your skin and face, I suggest testing them on your hand before purchasing, so that it will match your skin, lips and eyelashes.  For foundation, I like to use sponges rather than brushes for more accuracy and better application on my skin.
