It seems like everywhere I turn, lipsticks are taking over summer beauty. Whether it’s a nude lip for a hectic day at an internship, a coral shade for a day of retail therapy or a bright pop of pink for a night out with friends, coloring your lips is all the rage right now. As a lipstick lover myself, I’ve been ecstatic about this new trend and have been spending hours in Sephora exploring all the new shades, formulas and products until my eyes hurt just to find that perfect pout. One of the best lip looks going on out there in the beauty world is the matte liquid lip (thank you, Kylie Jenner). In contrast to the opposing summer lip leader, the gloss lip, a matte lip can provide you with a heap of benefits. It’s powerful, beautiful and it stays on throughout the craziest of days. No more spitting your hair out of your mouth when it’s sticking to your gloss on a breezy summer day; with a matte lip, you can conquer anything.

The never-ending battle between Team Gloss and Team Matte is a fight summer will never win. They both have the ability to give you that summer makeup glow. This season, I challenge you to channel your inner Kylie Jenner and give matte a try! You will not be disappointed and you may even convert. Team matte forever!
