BEAUTY BAR: Sultry Shadows

I’m pretty sure every girl went through a phase of trying to create the perfect smokey eye. It is a sultry look for a night out that no other eye makeup can truly replace or so we thought. I came across this Fashionista and couldn’t help but fall in love with her gorgeous makeup, particularly the eye shadow. She managed to take a sexy evening makeup trend and turn it into a dramatic daytime look by using primarily burgundy shadows instead of black. She offset the dramatic eye with a nude lip and a simple outfit so that her eyes would dazzle.

It turns out that this Fashionista is actually a professional makeup artist but, she shared some great tips with me to pass on to you! She created this look in a few simple steps. She began by blending a matte medium tone shadow from her crease to her brow to make blending easier. Then, she put a light gold shadow on her whole lid. She then took a deep wine shade and blended it into her crease. Next, she defined the outer corner by blending in a beautiful navy. Finally, instead of using eyeliner on her lower lash line, this Fashionista put the navy shadow along her lower lashes and blended it out with the wine. This use of shadow as a liner helped make it into a daytime look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To complete this look, you will need a medium tone shadow, a gold shadow, a wine shadow, and a navy shadow. Also, remember to keep the rest of the look simple with a nude lipstick.
