BEAUTY BAR: Seeing Green

Hair is the one accessory we’re stuck with all the time and can be often the most frustrating one to work with. I helped solve this problem a few years ago by chopping most of mine off and have been happy with the low maintenance lifestyle ever since. But there are plenty other ways to make your hair work for you and flow with your personal style, no matter what type you were born with! This Fashionista shows how to rock bold colors in our hair and how to let your personal style show through, no matter what outfit you have on.

Neon and primary hair colors have made a roaring comeback in the past few years and with box dyes available at the drugstore or online, it’s easier than ever to achieve this bold look. If you have a job that allows flexibility with hair color, it’s easier than ever to change it up; I’ve known people who changed their hair color every week and others who found one pink hue and stuck with it. The key with any hair color, green in this Fashionista’s case, is to not let it control your fashion choices. Just because you have bold hair doesn’t mean your outfit can’t be just as daring. My advice is to find a color that works for you, no matter how much experimenting that takes (just be careful not to damage your hair!) and let it complement, not constrain, your style.

This Fashionista’s vintage outfit and makeup are a perfect extension of her green locks. She rocks both the beauty and fashion components of her look and it strengthens her style as a whole. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and get a little wild with your hair!

If you’re thinking vintage like this Fashionista, be sure to grab a denim jacket and personalize it yourself. Add in a bold lip color (because it’s summer, and why not?) to become the glam queen you were meant to be.
