BEAUTY BAR: Raspberry Red

Having the same color hair throughout your life can get pretty boring. Some people decide to take the plunge and change their hair to a completely different color. If you want to be daring, but not lose your natural hair color, you can choose to dye just a small section of your hair.

This Fashionista chose her favorite color: red. It is bold, bright and goes great against her skin tone. She has been dying her hair for a while now and explains that it can be a lot to upkeep since the color fades after a couple weeks. She explains that she only has to bleach it every four months and dye it once or twice a month. But since she loves it so much, she says it is worth it. So, choose to be daring this summer and dye your hair a bright fun color just like this Fashionista did.

To recreate this look, first choose a color that you want. Then pick a section of your hair that you want to dye. Start with a small piece of hair—that way you can see if you like the color before you dye more. Once you choose the piece of hair that you want, you’ll need to bleach it. Hair dye kits usually come with this included. After the bleach has set in the allotted amount time (directions will be on box of hair dye), you will have to wash out that strip of hair with shampoo and conditioner and then blow dry that piece. Once you have accomplished this you can put the dye in that same piece of hair. You will have to leave it in for a certain amount of time, like the bleach, and then wash it out afterwards. Once you are finished you should have the color you want. You can choose to style it as you please. This Fashionista chose to style her hair in a loose bun to show off the red a bit more. To make the bright hair stand out more wear neutral colors like black or white. Like this Fashionista, wear a pair of unique sunglasses to further the eccentric, fun look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To complete this bright and bold red look, purchase Splat Luscious Raspberries hair dye. The best way to lock in that color and keep your hair happy and healthy, use Pureology shampoo and conditoner. If you want to put your hair in a loose bun, use a small clip to keep it in place.
