BEAUTY BAR: Long, Luscious Locks

As summer reaches its high point, you may find yourself dreading those hot, humid days; fearing what that humidity will do to your hair. It’s a scary thing to think about. However, this Fashionista is here to offer you a solution to one of your biggest fears.

This Fashionista has chosen to embrace her long, luscious locks and encourages you to do the same. Just because it’s hot outside doesn’t mean you have to hide your hair. Try something different. This Fashionista decided that this summer was the perfect time to try cornrows. This easy, low maintenance hair style looks stunning, and you won’t have to worry about the humidity messing it up. Whether it’s your whole head or just a section, this look is definitely becoming a trend this summer. You can pair this trend with some carefree beach waves like this Fashionista did. This look will carry you from a long day running downtown to a fun night out at the beach. Pair it with this adorable romper and you are guaranteed to turn heads.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: You too can recreate this fabulous hair trend! First, you will need to create some beach waves. You can do this by wetting your hair and sectioning off. Each section will be wrapped into a loose bun (smaller the bun, tighter the waves). Spray each section with a sea salt spray and wait for it to dry. Once it’s dry, you can let down your hair and spray with a salt spray once more. Voilà beach waves!  Now you will need to section off a small area of hair, this will become the cornrows. You can start by making even smaller sections of hair. Once this is done, you can begin to braid these small sections. These braids need to be done very tightly. Once you get to point where you are happy with your braid, you can secure the cornrow with a clip. Repeat until all the wanted sections are completed. Finally you can lock in the look with a high hold hair spray. Doing this look yourself is that easy!
