Let’s be honest, no one really wants to pile on makeup when you might end up sweating it all off later and looking like a hot mess. As much as we love summer, it is the season that makes us hesitate to grab that bottle of liquid foundation. The easiest way to go would be completely makeup free and bare faced, but not all of us are exactly that brave. Some of us also still want to wear makeup regardless of the sweat and heat. The trick is finding the perfect amount of makeup to get you through the hot days.

I spotted this Fashionista who clearly had her summer makeup game on point. With a very minimalistic outfit, she wore a red lip that brought all the attention to its fun, bold hue. She kept the eye makeup light with no heavy shadows and let her naturally flawless skin shine through. Maintaining this theme of simplicity, she wore a fitted bodycon dress in a solid gray color and paired it with some black sandals. The casual outfit is the perfect balance for such a strong, more dressy lip color. I loved this contrast of combining casual and dressy!

The effortless look of wearing an easy dress and throwing on a fearless red lipstick is ideal for summer; you end up actually not wearing much makeup but still looking put together. Keep accessories to the minimum like this Fashionista did with a circle necklace by Tiffany & Co. or with a single classy bracelet. Remember, you don’t want to draw attention away from your gorgeous lip color!

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR? To get this look, you need a bright red lip shade. Use a lip liner to help your lipstick or lip stain last all day, and if you really want to make your lips pop, subtly outline your lips with a concealer (think of it as highlighting the area). The rest of your makeup should be light and simple. Keep in mind which shade of red looks best on you, depending on your skin tone. What looks amazing on Beyoncé may not be the most flattering shade on you!
