January 21st, 2015 at 2:00am

Anyone could tell at first glance that this Fashionista was made for the limelight, but I bet there are a few things you wouldn’t guess about her! Christine is a senior who spends her free time modeling and singing with the university’s a cappella group known as the Kent Clarks! Recently the group took a trip to Washington D.C. to perform for President Obama himself. Keep reading for more information about Christine, her modeling and her views on fashion!

Name: Christine Lamendola
Role: Fashion Merchandising Student

CollegeFashionista: Why did you decide to major in Fashion?

Christine Lamendola: I didn’t actually come to Kent for fashion originally. I came here to be a Musical Theater major and after a year decided that my true passion was for fashion. I love every aspect of it, from the history, to the street style to the production of shows. Just everything amazes me, especially how fashion changes so quickly. It never gets boring and I think that’s why I love it!

CF: What do you love most about modeling?

CL: I would have to say my favorite part about modeling would be trying on all the different clothes. As a kid, I always loved playing dress up, so this is kind of a grownup way of playing dressup. It’s basically like trying on art, and I have a background in theater so doing runway shows and being on stage comes very naturally and gives me an amazing adrenaline rush.

CF: What are currently your favorite fashion trends?

CL: I think my favorite trend would have to be the leather trend that is going on right now, especially in pants. I also absolutely love the chunky ankle boots with the stacked heel. It’s hard to pick one style and I try to incorporate a little bit of everything into what I wear. I’m also in love with the trending color for this season, which is the deep wine color!

CF: How would you describe your personal style?

CL: I would have to say that my personal style is a mix of everything! Some days it is really chic and simple and other days it can be very bohemian. I guess it just depends on the mood I am in in that particular day!

Hi everyone! I'm Melanie Witzberger from Kent State University, but you can call me Mel. I am in my third year of college, however I'm graduating this August and am so excited about it! I am currently studying Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. I can not imagine studying anything other than Fashion, I absolutely love everything about it! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I can not wait to see what this semester holds. The future is bright ( I hope literally), as I hope to move to California sometime after graduation. I would love to be a Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, or Buyer in the future. I also have a deep passion for all things dealing with social media and would love have a career that involves working with it!
