ALL IN THE DETAILS: Splash of Color

During the summer, we have no problem finding our favorite pair of shorts and shirt to wear for soaking up some sun on hot, bright sunny days. What happens though when the temperature drops, and instead of soaking up some sun rays, we’re soaking up rain drops? Living in the northeastern part of the United States, we definitely see a lot of those days, and the outfit is pretty basic for a rainy day. The infamous pair of blue jeans and a bright rain coat that may or may not match with a pair of rain boots is every girl’s go-to outfit on a rainy day. Want a different look?

This Fashionista keeps a summer look to her outfit on a rainy day, with a black maxi skirt paired with a black scoop neck T-shirt, which is monochromatic and looks great on any body type. What makes this outfit “pop” though are the colorful accessories. A bright blue patterned scarf and a necklace are both simple but strong statements in her outfit, which give it a unique look and make any rainy day a little brighter. My favorite part of this outfit besides the Fashionista’s scarf was her Birkenstock sandals. With copper-colored straps, these sandals are a great staple to any wardrobe. Another positive point on these sandals that this Fashionista said, “They are super comfortable; even after being on the sales floor all day, my feet still feel great!” I definitely agree with this Fashionista on the comfort the Birkenstock sandals give, especially if you have high arches like myself.

How To: Want to have this Fashionista’s look? My suggestion—stick with any black shirt and skirt, and accessorize it with any color scarf, simple chain necklace and sandal that you desire to give it a splash of color on a rainy day.
