ALL IN THE DETAILS: '90s Child

Who said overalls were just for when you were a kid? If you’re from the ’90s like me, you know wearing overalls was no big deal then, but now it has become a fashion statement. If you don’t own a pair of overalls now nor have tried on a pair, get on it! They are the denim onesie you wish you had. Now, I know wearing jeans during the summer can be a risk in the heat and humidity that the Florida weather brings, however don’t fret. Not only have overalls come back into style, but so have “shortalls”, that’s right, short-overalls. I know when I got my first pair of overalls as a full grown human being I didn’t know what to wear with them without recreating a look that my mom would dress me in. This Fashionista did not seem to have the same problem by pairing her overalls with a striped tank, booties, and cute accessories.

The acid-wash denim overalls that this Fashionista is rocking is a twist on how to wear overalls and gives her outfit a boho vibe. The effortless look of overalls actually makes it easy to put together any ensemble, whether you are pairing overalls with a tank top like this Fashionista did or even pairing a sweater with “shortalls” if it’s a chilly night. Adding a striped tank top instead of a solid colored tank adds a little more interest to this Fashionista’s look. This Fashionista included small accessories including a watch and bracelets, as well as a necklace with multiple charms on it to add a little bling to her effortless look. Keeping the boho vibe that this look radiates with this Fashionista added a pair of lace booties and her cute little handmade anklets compliment her look in all the right ways

How To: After being inspired by this Fashionista to wear overalls more often I went scrolling through Pinterest and Tumblr to look for different options. I was surprised to see various ways of wearing them and how quick-and-easy all the outfits looked. I would go for “shortalls” this summer and add a patterned tee, some sandals and, to be a little more daring, add a floppy hat to give your outfit a little something more.
