STYLE GURU STYLE: Fun with Colors

I don’t typically go for clothes with very colorful or complicated patterns, but I had to reconsider after seeing Diane von Furstenberg’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection! It really captures the essence of a woman with its dainty silhouettes, versatile ensembles and fun colors. She designs for the woman who is always on the go and does everything with flair.

I was particularly enchanted with this look from the collection. It is soft and romantic, and the pattern is very artistic and instantly holds our interest. There is a sporty-chic vibe that oozes out of the shape of the dress. The stiletto heels are consistent with the overall feminine theme.

Keeping this dress in mind, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try more bold patterns. I also went for a more practical look and wore this colorful floral skirt that slims down my waist in a very flattering way. It goes nicely with this neutral top because it doesn’t steal the attention away from it. Bold pieces stand out the most when they are paired with relatively neutral accessories. I added the three-layered necklace for a sophisticated feel. As much as high stiletto heels look good on the runway, they are often less convenient in a casual everyday setting, so I decided to finish off the ensemble with these ankle strap sandals for some stylish comfort. Then, I felt like I embodied the ideal DVF woman because of the versatility and elegance of my look.

Get My Look: 1. A neutral top. 2. A bold, floral skirt. 3. Ankle strap sandals.
