WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Midwestern spring weather is the craziest. At the beginning of the week it was 70 degrees, yesterday it was raining and now it’s snowing! What exactly are we supposed to wear for that long walk to our classes? Don’t put your sweaters and jackets away just yet because I’m going to show you how to layer up for this moody weather!

I found this Fashionisto enjoying an afternoon at the Memorial Union Terrace. He’s wearing a heathered sweater, fitted blue jeans, suede loafers and colorful sunglasses. This look is perfect for a cloudy day. Layer it up with a T-shirt underneath in case the temperature heats up, or throw on a neutral rain jacket if there’s a chance of rain. Picking out multiple layers is the best way to avoid an outfit disaster with unpredictable Midwest weather.

My recommendation when you’re wearing layers is to try to pick out neutral colors or stay within a limited color palette. It’s easier to mix and match clothing when your closet isn’t a rainbow of colors and various patterns. I suggest experimenting with various colors with your accessories. This Fashionisto accessorized his outfit with bright blue and red sunglasses. This is the perfect way to brighten up a neutral outfit for spring! Mix it up with various kinds of sunglasses for this upcoming warmer weather.

One Simple Change: For your everyday jackets and T-shirts, always go with neutral colors. But you can create a great day to night look by picking out a leather jacket and switching up the shirt for a dark colored one for a nighttime look!
